Save Musi is a youth-led movement of students, residents, and friends of the river. We stand with the people of the Musi.
Six people, one Sunday, one stretch of bank. The work starts here. The Musi, November 2024
The river's story
The Musi runs through the heart of Hyderabad and has fed the city for centuries. After the great flood of 1908, the city built Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar to live safely with the river. Today the Musi carries the city's sewage, but the answer is to clean it, not to bury it in concrete.
What we believe
A river is not a drain. It is our heritage and our responsibility. We want a Musi that is clean, safe, alive, and shared, not sold.
The people behind Save Musi
We are volunteers, people like Arunya Jyothi, Deeksha, and John Michael, working with experts like Dr. Donthi Narsimha Reddy and culture partners like @NadiCultural. Full team details are coming soon.
