The 200 m corridor and the concrete bed were designed behind closed doors by international consultants and government officials. The people whose lives those drawings decide were never in the room.
- There have been zero public hearings in the bastis of Chaderghat, Amberpet or Puranapul.
- Families are learning that their homes are marked for demolition from red paint on the wall, not from any official consultation.
- Local hydrologists, environmentalists and urban planners who understand Hyderabad's Deccan terrain have been sidelined. In their place came "world-class" templates copied from the Sabarmati and the Han.
